Andrew Price jumped into the Firestarter Industry at UK based Tiger Tim Products Ltd in 1982 as their Accountant. In 1997 he was appointed Managing Director and in 2006 together with the management of Dutch Flame B.V. successfully completed a management buyout of the company. In the following two years the sales revenue more than doubled making it one of the largest firestarter manufacturers worldwide, with over 90% of its production being exported.

Andrew and his team achieved these results through the development of fresh innovations that meet consumer demand for products with greater safety, functionality, and convenience while at the same time having a lower environmental impact.

The joining together of these two companies, now under the banner of The Flame Group Ltd, has the added advantage of being able to supply both hydrocarbon and natural wooden firestarters to their customer base.

Andrew has a proven record of growing the private label sector. 90% of the sales are to Private Label customers.  Research shows that branded ignition products are not destination products whereas private label is believed to offer better value and reassurance to customers.

In advance of retiring from the UK business in March 2012 Andrew has been implementing his proven strategy to introduce these products to the

North American marketplace. To this end A+A Price Sales and Marketing Inc. has relocated to Alliston, Ontario, Canada. The advantages of being able to offer a safer alternative to the traditional lighter fluid for igniting charcoal and briquettes has proved to be a great success. with a range of both solid hydrocarbon and all natural wooden firestarters that the true grilling enthusiast now demands.

Why make the move to use natural charcoal only to ignite it with traditional lighter fluid? There are now firestarters available which are cleaner and without the risk of chemical odors ruining one’s food, as well as being kinder to the planet.
